SAP Evaluations
The DOT SAP Program is a federally mandated process established under 49 CFR 40 the U.S. Department of Transportation. It is designed for safety-sensitive employees, such as commercial truck drivers airline crew, who have violated drug and alcohol testing regulations. A Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) evaluates these employees, recommends an appropriate education or treatment plan, and determines their readiness to return to duty through follow-up evaluations. The SAP primary role is to ensure public safety while providing employees with a fair and evidence-based path forward.
